Why do people think these women are lying in the video?

Because all credible evidence contradicts their stories and the first hand accounts of survivors of such tragedies are often found to be inaccurate due to extreme emotional distress. I don't blame them, I just doubt that they were thinking very clearly at that time which is understandable.
