Is Such Behavior Becoming of A Christian?
Yesterday, February 17th, marked the 408th anniversary of the execution of Giordano Bruno at the hands of the Catholic Church. Bruno followed his God-given reason instead of man-made religion and Biblical superstitions. His reason told him such things as the earth is not the center of the universe; that the communion host used by the Catholic Church does not turn into the body of Jesus; and that Mary was not a virgin. His punishment: the Church ripped out his tongue and then burned him alive! This is a very good example of what happens when people reject their God-given reason and perpetuate the fear, superstition, and atrocities justified in the Bible! Can it be said that anyone who would commit such an atrocity is a Christian, and is justified in these evil acts, which are often condoned in the Bible?
