How should I approach him?

Okay, I know this sounds beyond depressing, but there is this guy at my school that IS SOOO cute, but I don't have the nerve to talk to him. He's in my lunch period, but he sits with a bunch of other people. ( So obviously just waltzing up to him would be awkward) I also see him in between cles, but not really anywhere else besides those places. How do I talk to him??
