I have a 2006 8hp yamaha outboard motor that runs at full throttle but the boat moves slowly? any ideas?

the prop is slighly bent is that the prolblem? or could there be any other prolblem? like a shear pin or any thing? It is on a 14 jon boat and only goes about half its speed that it normaly goes. what is the prolblem????
