Jews: Was the messiah that was prophecied in your religion supposed to be God as Christians think?

I am a Jewish American, and it is to my belief that when Jesus the historical figure declared that he was the son of God, what he actually meant was that each and every one of us, every single human being on the face of the earth are all the sons and daughters of God. That is what I think. Christians blew this WAY outta proportion...!
